Byproduct from the agriculture waste has been used instead to produce animal feed due to low cost and the type of plant used, are still on debate whether or not it have sufficient nutrient requirement to increase the commodities of the livestock. Plant based protein such as corn are commonly used by farmers but they have detrimental effect to the livestock due to the presence of secondary metabolites known as antinutritional factor (AFNs) can inhibit the absorption of nutrients. The use of fermented corn meal is a methods to reduce or remove those ANFs and the feed were tested on ornamental gourami, Trichogaster trichopterus. The effect of feeding fermented corn meal to the fish shown to have an effect in term of improve the specific growth rate, SGR (1.62 ± 0.233) and feed conversion ratio, FCR (2.47 ± 0.47).
