Abstract

The study area is a road construction site. The result and outcome meets the objectives of this research, that is to assess the strength of rock material and rock mass at study area, and to produce engineering geological map of study area. There are four main parameters that were analyzed at these slopes. They are spacing of discontinuities, infilling material of discontinuities, surface roughness of discontinuities and water condition of the discontinuities. These parameters are elaborated for each slope. Rock Quality Designation (RQD) is calculated as one of the parameter of Rock Mass Rating (RMR). Other parameters of RMR includes spacing of discontinuities, condition of discontinuities, ground water of discontinuities and rating adjustment for discontinuity orientation.
