Abstract

Flood exposure generally about the assessment after flood hit a place. The flood exposure is figure out by mapping the area using GlS software. Flood exposure is the extent to which properties, houses, economic activities and infrastructure are geographically situated in flood-prone areas ( Barroca et al. 2006; McEwan et al. 2002). The objective of this research are to study the geology of Rantau Panjang, assess the flood exposure of Rantau Panjang and To produce a geological map of flood exposure at Rantau Panjang. Hence, the general geological map of the study area includes geomorphology, lithology, stratigraphy, and structural geology. The geomorphology of study area possessed of floodplain. Phyliite is found at the study area whereas the other lithology is alluvium. The rock stratigraphy of Kg.E3akat Hulu, has a age of phyllite which is Permian while the age of alluvium near Sungai Golok is Quaternary. The formation between this lithology are Quaternary deposits and Sungai Kolok Formation. The flood exposure at Rantau Panjang is divide into three stages which are high damages, medium damages, and low damages.
