Abstract

Red hybrid tilapia is one of favourite and top demand fish in the world. The production of red hybrid tilapia also had increased year by year. However, the diseases had been one of major problem that effect the production of red hybrid tilapia. This study was carried out in order to determine the presence of Aeromonas hydrophila in Red Hybrid Tilapia and also to conduct sensitivity test of Aeromonas hydrophila toward Red Hybrid Tilapia. Therefore, this study was conducted in order to examine which antibiotic is compatible to treat the disease caused by Aeromonas sp. The isolated bacteria from Red Hybrid Tilapia were identified by using commercial identification kit. The antibiotic susceptibility tests were performed by using disk diffusion method by using 19 type of antibiotic disk. The results were taken by observing the zone of inhibition. Multiple antibiotic resistances (MAR) index indicated whether the Red Hybrid Tilapia are at high-risk exposure to the tested antibiotic. For the result, all the isolated bacteria were sensitive to Kanamycin, Chloramphenicol, Fosfomycin and Florfenicol. The information from present study will give a benefit to the farmers to find the suitable antibiotic when the disease outbreak occurs.
