Abstract

For Malaysia, there are 8000 tones or 8 million kilogram (kg) of rubbish per day. Food waste on the food service industry is the most identified areas of food waste. In 2015, there are 33000 tonnes of food was wasted every day. At the same times there 10% to 15% or over 2000 tonnes are still consumable. The objectives on this research is to explore the mindset of hawker mindset on awareness of food waste. This study will conduct by quantitative questionnaire on the food industry like hawker stall. This study is to explore food waste management awareness among the local hawker. For this research is going to use quantitative questionnaire for 30 respondents at Kelantan. Through this study,most of them do not really understand about the benefit on the food waste management. Meanwhile they think that food waste management is not suitable to run at hawker industry.The best way to solve food waste problem is throw the waste into the trash. Because some of them think that it is a hassle mission for hawker stall. Hence,the successful on effectiveness of the illustration food waste management campaign can help hawker industry to build up the concept of the food waste management.
